Catching the very first instant of nascent space, Making Architecture shows how very young architects formed at the ETH Zurich are developing their relation to the substance of architecture and unfold it gracefully, concentrating on the embedded, the implicit filigrane or massive potential contained in materials. The publication unveils scaleless creations, fragile architectures, subtle objects, reopening a field thought to be fully explored.

Echoing with the works of the Bauhaus, Prof. Andrea Deplazes’ Chair of Architecture and Technology investigated the fundament of architecture anew, contributing with innovative powerful projection tools and unlocking poïêsis, the poetry unclosed in materiality, offering a new stone in the mine called inspiration.



Indem sie den allerersten Augenblick von entstehendem Raum dokumentiert, zeigt die Publikation, wie junge Studierende am Lehrstuhl für Architektur und Konstruk­tion der ETH Zürich, Prof. Andrea Deplazes, sich Architektur aneignen. Dabei konzent­rieren sie sich auf das im Material angelegte massive oder filigrane Gestaltungsspektrum. Präsentiert werden massstabslose Kreationen, subtile Objekte, fragile Architekturen, welche die Grundlagen der Architektur aufs Neue und in äusserst inspirierender Weise erforschen.
